ICT Showroom

ICT SHOWROOM event

Unfortunately, our group did not participate in the ICT Showroom as an exhibitor. Every team worked so well. They have introduced their job and showed the participants how to use their products. We  (and probably the others that came to the event in such a huge amount) have really enjoyed this event. It is a great opportunity to see that the Innovation Project course has a visible outcome which will be used in the future by a company.

Outcome from weeks 7-9

During weeks 7-9 we were and still are trying to end our current and past tasks. For week 9 our team is supposed to evolve one idea per each group member to create a promoting plan for our customer - EOS. During 8. week we have started "Use case" assignment. The aim is to get more familiar with competitors and help to find the best solution for a customer whose needs we know. Afterwards, we are going to work on our one of the last but not least tasks - News about metal 3D printing. One of the most demanding undertaking that we are trying to mostly focus on is the survey and Finland versus Sweden comparison analysis. Furthermore, during these weeks we had two significant and rich in feedback PO meetings.

"Week nine started with PO meeting and on next day we upgraded the to do -list. We didn't have special agenda for the meeting, we just needed feedback from our work to ensure we are going to right direction.  We didn't get new tasks, but we got good information for what we should do better and what we can do more. Some tasks are ready and some need more work and wider research. Direction is good and we have energy to do our best for rest of the spring in both project and another studies." says Kalle.

Main outcome of the week 6

Hello!

For the 6. week our group was supposed to do:

- different additive manufacturing survey analysis (Kasia),
what would help to create a new survey, give some ideas
- make the first draw of the survey and contact the PO to get feedback and later start sending it to potential customers (Kalle and Trung are the responsible persons for this task),
we want to contact potential customers and hopefully further cooperate with them
- name the pros and cons of additive manufacturing (Valtter and Krishna)
- create an e-mail base of the industry companies that we will send the survey to.

Kasia, Trung and Kalle did their job very well!

Furthermore, this week we are going to upload the pitching video. There is also one indiviual task. Each person should answer the survey and give feedback about the course.

For the next week we are planning to make Finland versus Sweden additive manufacturing companies comparision (Trung and Krishna will work together), name the disadventages and adventages of EOS by making SWOT and other analysis (Kasia) and end the calculated business case\proposing customers task (Valtter and Kalle).

Taking a look back- outcome of week 3 and 4

Hello!

Let´s take a look back on tasks done during weeks 3 and 4...

In the 3. week we were supposed to do the first task - ''World wide additive manufacturing companies comparison''. Each person have found 5 companies and described them in the provided by Krishna KC template. Krishna and Trung made the principle and conclusion for this task. The main aim is to find the companies which are involved in metal 3D printing and to compare their offers and services to EOS. We believe that it will help us in naming pros and cons of EOS by comparing the final outcome and later we will take a further step to look more closely from the world to the Europe and again from the Europe to the Sweden being the most familiar country. We have also started the ''Finnish industry mapping'' assignment for the next week. Kalle and Trung did the template and Kasia and Kalle did the principle and conclusion. What was it about? Each person needed to find either additive manufacturing comapnies or potential Finnish customers for EOS. Furthermore, we made SWOT analysis. Aim of this analysis is not only to compare EOS to the competitors highlighting the differences but also to find new potential partners and of course to get to know potential customers for EOS. In one of the next steps we are going to select some of the companies and analyse them further to gain more knowledge about the cooperation advantages. For the next week we have planned to start finding potential cluster members and describe them. Kasia made the template and Valtter did the principle and conclusion. All cluster members are not necessarily AM service providers but some of them are promoting additive manufacturing solutions or providing trainings. We are going to look up few members and analyze them. We are going to suggest potential common activities and answer the question: Why EOS should cooperate with them?.

Week 4 outcome - Kalle Laato

Hey everyone!

Spring semester has started well.

During the week four our team members will do research of the competitors of EOS in Finland and my job is summarize the results. We are also doing research of the potential customers which we will later introduce to EOS.

Me and Valtter have a task to find potential customers to our final business case. EOS will define which industrial sector they want us to focus on and our job is to contact them. Before contacting the potential customers we will need marketing material and a plan how to approach them.

We are interested in sharing our ideas to EOS and get ideas from them!  We hope that we get to arrange meeting with PO very soon so we get our mission forward.

Week 4 outcome- Katarzyna Wojdalska

During the 4. week I am supposed to find 5 Finnish additive manufacturing companies and describe them. Location, products, services, social media, web page address and other important aspects should be included. After that I will select 2 companies to propose them as cluster members to EOS. I will answer the question "Why EOS should cooperate with this company?". Moreover, during week 4 I am going to prepare a template for the whole group to fill in the proposed cluster partners and the excel file to put its names to prevent repeating. Furthermore, conclusions to this and the previous task and principle of the "Potential cluster members" should be added by me. I also need to check if all of the group members have done the previous task properly.

Going back to work on our project with a lot of energy! Sprint planning session outcome

Hello everyone!
We are back!

During this semester our group is going to have a lot of work. For now it is how our tasks look like. Moreover, it is just the first version of how we achieve our final product, so after we will be ready with our study report version and after we present our outcomes to the project owner we need to do upgrades concerning all the received comments. To sum up we need to do the world-wide companies and Finnish industry analyse, find potential customers and cluster partners, create a survey to get to know the opinions about additive manufacturing problem, do a calculated business case and in the end we need to hit on ideas about the promoting plan. For each task one person will be responsible. During this semester an event "ICT Show Room" will be held. Then you can ask us questions to get to know better what we did. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Elevator pitch speech

Today, we were supposed to give a pitch about our project. The aim was to promote it and validate the idea. You can find our presentation under this link:

Another task was to comment other groups speeches. We need to give an opinion about the two groups which followed in the presentation list and we are going to share them in this blog post.

New Age Digi-Care

This group consist half business, half ICT students. Their project is mainly focusing on the need of  elderly health care solutions and introducing advance of technology in health care sector. As the only group during the first round, they showed a visualization of the application what is a big advantage. This app will be used for example to provide a list of nearest and available doctors and health care. Moreover, they used flowcharts and tackled many aspects- challenges, benefits, needs... what is another benefit. Unfortunately, a slogan was missing and overall the presentation was really long.

Occupational Well-being Index

This group was talking about their program which is calculating already existing data. Their customer is Finnish navy, so project details are top secret. The presentation was presented by two young and smiling ladies what made it very satisfying to watch. The speech was short, but relevantly and fluent. Presenters were trying to make eye contact with the public. It was one of the best performances that is why it came to the finals.

It is the end of our work for this semester. We wish you a joyous and peaceful Christmas. May you be blessed with lots of love from the ones that matter most. May your heart be warmed by the sweet magic that Christmas always brings, and may all your dreams be fulfilled.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Plan for rapid prototyping covers

Hypothesis

1. Additive Manufacturing is not accepted/acknowledged.
2. New partner companies for EOS are needed.
3. EOS can have more satisfied customers.

Method/Tools

1. First of all we want to draw up a survey. We did not decide yet which tool are we going to choose. We are planning to send this survey to different companies world-wide and maybe even to some customers. Furthermore, we are going to analyse it and compare to other already found surveys about additive manufacturing. In addition, we want to see what are the main differences between Swedish and Finnish industry and how the branding and marketing strategies look like. Moreover, we are planning to present companies located all over the world and find their currently issues and achievements. Our final product is going to be a wide study report. Supplementary findings are going to be shown in form of a Power Point presentation.

2. We strongly believe that it is necessary for the company to find new partners to develop. Firstly, we are going to focus on the Finnish industry. Later we are planning to study an opportunity of creating a cluster and finding possible members, to list them and propose to EOS. For this purpose our group needs to do a huge research- from searching through different already existing clusters, LinkedIn groups, Facebook pages to studying fairs attendees, conferences participants and technical associations members. We need to find possible customers in different fields of industry and propose them a better solution- EOS products. Hopefully, they will show interest in a further cooperation. A calculated business case is going to be created.

3. Our group wants to create a potential customer- a Persona. Additionally, we will compare different aspects of competitors products and branding methods to achieve an objective opinion if the customer wants to pick EOS or not- if not then we are going to figure out the reason and present possible solutions. Therefor a survey can be also helpful. We are going to analyse past EOS customers, their business cases and find conclusions what could be done in a better way, what went wrong or what was the main purpose why the cooperation went well.
